LASER WHITENING

Teeth whitening is a dental procedure to whiten teeth. Naturally, our teeth will appear slightly yellowish because the second layer of teeth that is known as dentin, is yellowish in color. Whereas the first layer that is known as enamel, is whitish and slightly translucent. The result of teeth whitening depends on the enamel layer of each tooth. Those with thicker enamel, or enamel that is not translucent, will achieve better result.

The traditional way of doing teeth whitening, is by applying the whitening agent on the surface of the teeth, and the whitening agent will be activated with a strong ultra-violet light. The whole process will take around 45 minutes to 1 hour. UV light will result in the teeth become dry, and as the chemical agent penetrates and whitens the teeth, patient will tend to feel sensitive during whitening procedure. The modern way of doing whitening, will be laser teeth whitening, which utilizes laser instead of UV light. Laser will enhance the speed of whitening and also reduces the sensitivity. So, the whole process will take as short as 30 minutes and patient don't feel much sensitivity during the process. Below are the pictures of pre-operative and post-operative for laser whitening.
